Atlantic City has begun a major upgrade of Dolphin Field in the Venice Park neighborhood. The $1.33 million project will modernize the facility for local athletes and community programs.

City officials recently broke ground on the improvement project. Once completed, the field will feature synthetic turf designed for football, soccer, and cheerleading activities.

Several additional upgrades are planned. These include enhanced lighting, new goal posts, and renovations to the concession stand and locker rooms.

The improvements will provide a better experience for youth sports organizations and community users. As a result, the facility will support expanded recreational opportunities throughout the year.

Dolphin Field has long served as an important athletic venue for Atlantic City residents. Over time, the field has become a gathering place for youth sports and neighborhood events.

Funding for the project comes entirely from New Jersey’s Green Acres Program. Notably, the program prioritizes investments that improve recreational opportunities for children and families.

The renovation reflects continued investment in community infrastructure across Atlantic City. Furthermore, upgraded recreational facilities can enhance quality of life while supporting youth development.

Construction is now underway, bringing long-awaited improvements to one of the city’s established athletic fields.
