Former Trump Plaza Site Reportedly Sold in Atlantic City

Former Trump Plaza Site Reportedly Sold in Atlantic City

One of Atlantic City’s most prominent undeveloped Boardwalk properties reportedly has a new owner. Mayor Marty Small Sr. announced that the former Trump Plaza casino site recently changed hands.

Speaking during an appearance on the nationally syndicated radio show “The Breakfast Club,” Small confirmed that a purchaser acquired the property. However, he declined to identify the buyer or provide additional transaction details.

Small described the purchaser as an influential figure in New Jersey. He indicated that the new ownership group would announce the acquisition publicly.

The reported sale represents a potentially significant development for Atlantic City’s commercial real estate market. The former casino property occupies a prominent oceanfront location along the city’s Boardwalk.

Trump Plaza originally operated as one of three Atlantic City casinos associated with Donald Trump’s former gaming businesses. The casino closed in 2014 after approximately 30 years of operation.

Following years of vacancy, portions of the former casino complex were demolished through a controlled implosion in 2021. The demolition left a substantial undeveloped oceanfront property.

Since then, the site has remained a notable redevelopment opportunity along Atlantic City’s waterfront.

The property’s Boardwalk location could attract interest from developers exploring hospitality, entertainment, or other commercial uses. However, no specific redevelopment plans have been announced.

Additionally, the identity of the reported buyer remains undisclosed. Details regarding the purchase price, development timeline, and potential future uses have not been released.

For Atlantic City’s commercial real estate market, the reported transaction could represent an important step toward repositioning the former casino site. Large waterfront properties offer opportunities for redevelopment, particularly within established tourism destinations.

Furthermore, redevelopment of vacant casino properties remains an important consideration for Atlantic City’s evolving real estate landscape. New investment can help introduce activity to underutilized sites along major commercial corridors.

Although the property’s future remains uncertain, the reported sale marks a potential turning point for the former Trump Plaza location. Additional announcements from the new ownership group could provide greater clarity regarding redevelopment plans.
