Club Wyndham to Close Atlantic City Resort, Lay Off 116 Employees

Skyline Tower Closing

Club Wyndham will close its Skyline Tower resort in Atlantic City at the end of the year and pursue a sale of the property, resulting in 116 layoffs. The closure, effective December 31, was disclosed in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the New Jersey Department of Labor.

According to resort management, 99% of the property’s ownership voted to cease operations and list the 32-story timeshare for sale. Employees were informed of the potential closure earlier this summer.

Located at 100 S. North Carolina Avenue, the Skyline Tower was originally built in 1982 and underwent a full renovation in 2011. The resort features amenities including a fitness center, game room, swimming pool, and sauna.

The decision marks another shift in Atlantic City’s hospitality landscape as operators continue to assess long-term demand and redevelopment opportunities in the market.
